Our promotion ceremony is being held in the Johansen gym, May 27th at 5:00 pm. Students need to arrive by 4:30. Due to seating restrictions, each promoted student will receive 5 tickets. Regardless of age, everyone requires a ticket.
Modesto City Schools has standardized promotion dress by requiring the use of gowns at all junior highs. Such attire dignifies the ceremony and hopefully eliminates the need for purchasing expensive promotion clothes. No student eligible will be eliminated from the promotion ceremony due to inability to pay. Parents with questions, please contact Tabitha Berube at (209) 574-1906 if a loaner gown is needed.
In conclusion, promotion is a serious and formal celebration. Please do not confuse this with a sporting event. Horns, bells, balloons, etc. disturb the program, taking away from this special occasion and are not allowed. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
